Telstar and AcmaVolpak have unveiled a new aseptic filling line for the packaging of children's solid food products in the US.

The new filling line features Telstar's laminar air flow system that comprise seven custom pieces of equipment: three HEPA filtered laminar flow units from the 'CAM' series, three HEPA filtered laminar flow units from the 'UF' series and a Restricted Access Barrier system (RABs).

Filtered air supply modules in 'CAM' series are said to protect the product once the filling and sealing process begins.

The RABs, in aseptic filling line, have been designed to provide an efficient plug loading process while the sterile air supply units (UF) are located on the transfer tunnels/cowlings between two laminar flows.

This arrangement of equipment is said to allow a surface area of filtered air covering approximately 12 m2. The vertical laminar air flow provides ISO 5 class air quality that allows working under aseptic conditions.

Built with green technology, the new aseptic filling line would have a production capacity of 20 million containers annually.

The filling line is compatible with EC fans that provide 50% energy saving as against conventional fans.

Telstar offers all equipment that are made of stainless steel and features two-stage filtration to assure air quality.

The clean air technology has been developed by Telstar to protect the working environment of the SMA-260 F2 machine in the AcmaVolpak packaging line.
