Jyrobike uses gyroscopic technology to 'teach kids to ride in one afternoon.'

Jyrobike, the inventors of 'the world's first auto balance bike' designed to teach children to ride a bike in one afternoon, has secured $100,000 in Kickstarter funding in just six days.

The bicycle company launched its first products - aimed at three to eight year olds – on the crowdfunding site on Tuesday, June 3rd. The team celebrated reaching its full funding yesterday (Monday, June 9th).

Jyrobike features a patented Control Hub in the front wheel that uses gyroscopic technology to keep riders upright, even when they tip or wobble.

When engaged, the Control Hub provides a stabilising force, working in a similar fashion to gyroscopes used to keep helicopters, boat and spaceships stable.

"Using a Jyrobike, children can learn to ride a bike without stabilisers and learn to ride in one afternoon.," explained a statement from the team.

The successful Kickstarter campaign is still open for another 24 days, and the company will soon announce details of its stretch goal as it moves to secure further funding.

Jyrobike founder and CEO, Robert Bodill, said: "We have been overwhelmed by the support from our backers across the globe during the first week of our Kickstarter campaign and I'd like to say a massive thank you to them all for pledging with us."
